Dr. Jacqui Rideout
Dr. Jacqui Rideout

DVM

Jacqui is originally from Newfoundland and graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 1990. She has been working at the Galt Animal Hospital for over 30 years and is the owner of the practice. Jacqui has started her transition into retirement and will be working mainly behind the scenes at the clinic. She lives in Cambridge with her husband, chocolate lab Whisky, and cat Corey. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Jane Steckle
Dr. Jane Steckle

DVM

Jane was born and raised in a cattle-farming family in Waterloo County. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 and from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1990. She practiced small and large animal medicine briefly in Manitoba before returning to Ontario in 1993. Jane and her Manitoba dog Orly settled back in Guelph, and she eventually concentrated on small animal medicine exclusively. Jane, who is currently petless, is pictured with her late dog Tuffy. In her spare time she enjoys woodworking, watching movies, and gardening.

Hannah was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Ottawa before beginning her career in veterinary medicine. Hannah graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2023 and now resides in Kitchener. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her senior cat Ally, browsing local markets and thrift stores and playing board games.

Laura grew up in Kitchener and graduated from University of Guelph with a bachelor’s in Animal Biology, then following by obtaining her Veterinary Doctorate from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2018. Laura has a strong interest in Feline Medicine, Animal Behaviour and Fear Free Practice. When not at the clinic Laura enjoys spending time playing sports (soccer or volleyball), a round of board games with her family or just snuggling on the couch with her cat and Husband Marc.

Dr. Cassandra Carolino

Cassandra grew up in Putnam with her identical twin sister, two older brothers, and her parents on their rural property. As a child, her love for wildlife and the environment kickstarted her journey into veterinary medicine. Cassandra obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology as well as a Master’s of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Guelph prior to attending vet school. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2024. She has special interests in small animal preventative medicine as well as emergency and critical care. Cassandra currently lives in Guelph with her fiancé, Michael, and their shepherd/retriever mix, Ralph. In her free time, Cassandra enjoys being active outdoors and connecting with nature through hiking and camping.

Deb has spent most of her life in Cambridge and currently lives with her husband and 2 dogs. Shas been a devoted receptionist at the clinic for over 40 years. She has provided excellent care to clients and patients over the years. In her free time, she enjoys camping, walking the dogs, and Pilates.

Rachel
Rachel

RVT, Practice Manager

Rachel was born and raised in Cambridge and attended Conestoga College for business, graduating in 2018. She graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2023 and is now a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has been working at the clinic for over 10 years, first starting as a kennel assistant and is now the practice manager. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports (volleyball, golf, and hockey), spending time with her tripod lab Leonard and cat Doris, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Nicole graduated from the veterinary technician program at Sheridan College in April 2015 and joined our team in December 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, horseback riding, and spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs, Cider and Skyy. 

Quinn
Quinn
RVT, CCAR

Quinn was born and raised on the West side of Galt, her love for animals started young, as she began horseback riding. Her career in veterinary medicine began when she was in high school and then went on to attend Northern College for Veterinary Technician. She took her education another step forward and specialized in Companion Animal Rehabilitation and then Conestoga College Entrepreneurship program in 2017. She’s licensed in the financial services industry, and dog sits in her spare time. She comes from an array of experience including some time that was spent in Neurology. Quinn joined the GAH team as a part time RVT and in her full time job she is responsible for expanding the Canadian Animal Blood Banks program in southwestern Ontario. If Quinn finds time to herself it’s usually golfing, or curled up with her yellow lab Tobey and a good book.

Melissa
Melissa

RVT

Melissa grew up in the GTA and graduated from the University of Guelph in 2016 with a Bachelors in Zoology. She then went on to graduate from Seneca College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2018, and has been working as a Registered Veterinary Technician, mainly in small animal medicine since. In 2020, she moved back to Guelph, where she lives with her partner and rambunctious cockapoo, Henri. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, playing board games, and watching movies.

Cailey

RVT

Cailey graduated from Sheridan College in 2021 and became registered as a Veterinary Technician shortly after. Cailey has worked at the clinic for over 6 years as a veterinary assistant/receptionist and now an RVT. She is devoted to running her rescue, Dorset Rescue Kittens, and animal sanctuary, Dogwood Animal Sanctuary, full time, but enjoys working at the clinic any chance she can get. Cailey enjoys spending time in Muskoka with her rescue dogs, rabbits, foster dogs, and family.

Mya was born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology in 2022. Mya has two Siberian huskies, Kona and Keela. They both love spending their days howling, cuddling on the couch and going for long walks. In her spare time, Mya enjoys reading, watching the Blue Jays, and spending time with her family.

Emily graduated from Durham College in in 2017 with an Animal Care certificate. Since starting at GAH in 2022, she has enjoyed welcoming friendly faces (canine, feline and human) into the clinic. Outside of the clinic, Emily is a student at Wilfrid Laurier University, and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets.

Hannah was born and raised in Cambridge, ON. She joined the GAH team as a volunteer summer 2022 and she became an employee shortly after. Hannah hopes to become a veterinarian and has been balancing her time between the clinic, the University of Guelph majoring in Animal Biology, and she also works at Dorset Rescue Kittens on the weekends. Hannah has a love for all animals and currently lives with 3 rats and a dog. When she is not working or studying, she enjoys horseback riding, spending time with friends, and being in nature.

Aimee was born and raised in Brampton, ON and graduated from Sheridan College with an Animal Care Certificate. She was a dog groomer for over 15 years but then decided to pursue a career as a Law Clerk and graduated in 2013 at Trios College. She then realized how much she missed the animal/vet industry and started working as a CSR in Brampton, ON. Aimee now lives in the Guelph area with her three cats Lee, Marshall, and Tigger (who has recently retired from his previous clinic in Guelph, ON). In her free time, she enjoys playing ice and ball hockey, reading, gardening, and golfing.
