Jacqui Rideout, DVM


Jacqui is originally from Newfoundland and graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 1990. She has been working at the Galt Animal Hospital for over 25 years and is the owner of the practice. She lives in Cambridge with her 2 kids, her chocolate lab Whisky and cat Corey. In her free time she enjoys biking, kayaking, paddle boarding and dock diving with Whisky!

Jane Steckle, DVM


Jane was born and raised in a cattle-farming family in Waterloo County. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 and from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1990. She practised small and large animal medicine briefly in Manitoba before returning to Ontario in 1993. Jane and her Manitoba dog Orly settled back in Guelph, and she eventually concentrated on small animal medicine exclusively. Jane, who is currently petless, is pictured with her late dog Tuffy. In her spare time she plays in a recreational hockey league and enjoys woodworking, movies and cycling.

Dr. Laura Rooney DVM


Laura was born and raised in Oakville ON and graduated Western University with a bachelors and masters degree in Biology. She then perused her career in veterinary medicine and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019. Laura now lives in Guelph with her partner Josh, two cats Mustard and Randal and the newest addition Walter the Whippet. In her free time she enjoys riding her horse William, hiking and cooking.

Nicole, RVT


Nicole graduated from the veterinary technician program at Sheridan College in April 2015, became registered in July 2015 and started working at another small animal clinic before joining our team in December 2016. She moved from Burlington to start her life in Kitchener with her new husband Zack and two dogs Sky (greyhound) and Cider (English Springer Spaniel). Nicole grew up riding horses but now enjoys agility with Cider and spending time with her family and friends.


Receptionist/Office Manager

Deb, our Receptionist/Office Manager has been efficiently greeting clients for almost 30 years, looking after any and all their needs with a genuine smile and the utmost of care and concern. A grand-daughter and her dog Sparky are her major focus and time spent with family in her RV is extremely important as well as.


Receptionist/Assistant/Practice Manager

Rachel was born and raised in Cambridge and attended Conestoga College for business, graduating in 2018. She is now attending Thompson Rivers University to become a registered veterinary technician. She has been working at the clinic for over six years, first starting as a kennel assistant and is now the practice manager. Rachel has a 2 year old black lab named Remington who loves laying on the couch and will occasionally want to go for a walk. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, golf and spending time with her friends and family.


Veterinarian Assistant/Receptionist

Cassandra was born in British Columbia along with her identical twin sister, Chloe. Her family moved to London ON when she was 2 and have been in the surrounding area ever since. She recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors degree in Animal Biology then completed a Masters degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the same institution. She recently started attending the Ontario Veterinary College and will become a practicing DVM! Both of her pets come from humane societies and include Suzie, the 2yr old chinchilla, and Ralph, the 1yr old Shepherd/Retriever cross. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, hanging with friends, and practicing hot yoga!


Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Jessica graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2018, with a degree in Animal Ecology, Environmental Management and Wilderness studies. In the future, she hopes to do research on endangered species and own a rescue sanctuary. She is the owner of two hounds, Blue and Charlie, a parrot and a guinea pig. In her spare time, she enjoys a good hike, volleyball, snowboarding and spending warm sunny days at the beach.


Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Sarah was born and raised in Cambridge, she recently graduated from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in 2019. She has two cats Ki and Oscar who take up a lot of her time. She enjoys spending as much time as possible outside hiking, kayaking and soaking up the sun in the summer with friends.
